--Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair & Painting: Certified Renovator Initial Training Course, sponsored by the University of Cincinnati. Beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. A joint curriculum of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
--OSHA Lead Awareness: OSHA requires this training as a minimum for all employees who may be occupationally exposed to lead during the course of construction activities. The course is based on the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.62, the OSHA Lead Construction Standard.
